Hola y Bievenido a Costa Rica!

My name is Nico Pisani, and on behalf of myself and my incredible team of partners, (whom you will also get know well) we would like to welcome you to the Rainforest Paradise country of Costa Rica.

Wow.. a long journey it has been to get here! The idea of the Costa Rica Travel Channel has actually been a vision for about five years.

You see, Costa Rica has about an 80% tourist based economy... that being said, I have always wondered why english speaking tourists could not turn on a television in their hotel rooms to see what was actually going on around the country. Sure, they could read Frommer's and Lonely Planet, and the weekly publication of the Tico Times (which I love by the way), or they could visit one of a million web sites and READ all about it...

but to see it, hear it, feel it.. it was not until they booked tours... sight unseen... did they get to experience the Real Costa Rica, and let me just say.. the reality is that there should be a better system in place to make a more informed decision... after all, it's your time, your money, your vacation... and you deserve the best experience Costa Rica has to offer YOU!

Now, I have always said if I could only meet the right people, with enough money, I could start the Costa Rica Travel Channel. My own broadcast station on Cable Tica, the local cable network, that tourists could tune into from their hotel rooms to see production television of tourism information, adventure shows, breaking news, and just plain cool stuff!
So I have been preaching this concept to my friends and fellow Expats for years now... making my own little amateur videos (which I will be will posting here)...and dreaming about one day... Well... Guess What?

Now with the evolution of technology, this vision has finally become a reality!

I have spent the last two years a student of internet trends, and with the advent of social networks like MySpace and especially the YouTube phenom... I have re-invented my original vision of a traditional high-cost production local broadcast station... to a much lower cost, international, interactive, web-based experience...the Costa Rica Travel Channel.com!Now, we have the capability to broadcast worldwide.. to an interactive community of like minded world travelers, and other Expatriots living here in Costa Rica. As well as other international languages and not only english.

YOU will help us build the ultimate platform for informed decision making by helping us deliver video content, news, and vital information!

NOT only for tourism... but global unity and growth to maintain harmony in this bio-diverse paradise. The world as we know it is undergoing great changes, and we need to promote growth and tourism in an honest and responsible manner. Costa Rica is a fragile eco-system and a paradise that everyone should experience and share... however, we must be aware of the footprint we leave behind.

We are dedicating 10% of any and all revenues generated through the Costa Rica Travel Channel to environmental, wildlife, and humane causes that we will actively support and promote as we grow.. so we welcome your participation in our community... and our vision!

So that is my story... and I am sticking to it:) but like i said... I have a great team of partners and it would be an injustice for me to tell their story... except to say it has been quite a road less traveled for us to arrive at this point... as they will tell you in their own words below...

Michael, Alan and D'Angelo here. Boy, are we glad Nico never gave up on his dream or we may have ended up picking seasonal fruit down here. But seriously, we're proud to be part of the Costa Rica Travel Channel team as we expect this to be a long and rewarding experience. It's been an exciting, albeit bumpy ride since arriving here from Las Vegas a few years back and we can't wait to see what the future will bring- if our life up to this point is any indication, it WILL be interesting. You'll be seeing us quite a bit around the channel as we live and travel the Costa Rica experience everyday and share it with you- offering our tips, stories and information through video.
